Program Purpose

NMDOT established the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Supportive Services (DBESS) Program, NMDOT STAR, to provide training, assistance, and services to DBE firms certified in the NMDOT DBE program.

The program seeks to facilitate the development of these businesses into viable self-sufficient organizations capable of competing for, and performing on federally-assisted highway projects. We provide assistance in the acquisition of skills and the identification of resources so that the firms can ultimately compete on an equal basis for contracts and subcontracts without need for assistance of the DBE program.

Mission

Provide educational resources and networking opportunities for DBEs, small businesses, contractors, consultants, and community partners to build New Mexico small businesses serving the transportation infrastructure industry, while promoting economic development and preserving the environment of New Mexico.

Vision

Set the standard for an innovative, collaborative and results driven DBE Supportive Services Program.
